i'm not sure what this has become...or ever was. at the risk of reading past entries and feeling utterly disappointed at what i have not done, i am here, writing. i haven't decided what to do with that obscenely large goal i set a few months ago. in the meantime it's been four months. and in true dog dayz of summer fashion, that goal has gotten tired, heavy, and mainly craves a cherry limeade come noon. now she hibernates indefinitely.
i am back at school. last semester of classes. i try not to feel like a fraud when i stand in front of a class. i'm edging closer to integrity. persona is a two-edged sword that i awkwardly hoist around until it's becoming on me. i'll let you know when feigned confidence isn't so bulky. He-Man, credit is due and it's all yours. I'll be trembling in front of a bunch of red-eyed 7th grade Skeletors in no time. Hopefully it's a little bit less of a versus battle and more of "the lamb will lie down with the lion" sort of deal. i imagine it will be somewhere in between.
hey, and guess what? i still like music. on a 2008 road trip that couldn't have felt longer, the dirty projectors proved that it indeed could! at the time, i deemed them the only thing more annoying than the silent treatment we were already enduring. sit through a semester of 20th c. music and suddenly i'm applauding weird inaccessible academia. his phrasing and the way the parts interact is really interesting to me in this song. it's kind of like the paper doll template where several dolls are linked together by will alone. their fingers are not interlocked, or even perceptible for that matter. the people morph into one another because independence, in spite of any effort, is not plausible. no one can get away--like a really long road trip. upon second listen maybe you won't want to.
dirty projectors: no intention
