enough

so this weekend i spent a lot of QT (quality time) with ryan "ranger" gregson, recording a cover of stars "your ex-lover is dead." we finished it last night and it's being mixed and will probably get posted within a day or two. ranger is a loyalist; a sincere guy who only says/sings what he means and that is an incredible feat as a human. i had a great time recording with him. i just got a book called the recording engineer's handbook and we loved referencing it for all of our recording needs: whistling? hand claps? organ? harmonica? it's got a mic placement technique for all of these. unfortunately we only used the organ, which was our greatest struggle. i think when i focus this much musical energy on a task that it deserves to be song of the week.

but, for all you purists, here is a very quiet version of a 5/4 ditty i am dreaming up called "enough." just "oohs" and "ahhs" for now, but maybe more will come of it. turn your speakers way up if you want to hear this thing. i am no engineer yet. headphones would probably be your best bet. i guess i am a po-et...
