it's monday...

you know what that means. it's time for julia to fall through on this song thing. just the recording. i spent a good hour on the song today and it's really coming together in such a weird way. i wrote it on piano at school and it's not transferring over well to the organ i have at home, so i may have to record it late at night tomorrow. i can't wait to finish it. this project has got me thinking about writing and beyond that, actually writing. i'll think of a lyric in class and i'll jot it down without judgment. that hasn't happened in years. the mess is such fertile ground. i hope it continues that way. thanks for listening and keep checking back for the recording this week.

right now i get to attend my own birthday party. there's a running joke about how if our house was a carnival, i'd be the bearded lady...just because i was a male figure with a beard for every halloween ca. 1995-2000. i also had a "backwards" birthday party one of those years. so, in keeping with tradition and theme, my roommates are throwing me a carnival, bearded lady, backwards party complete with funnel cakes and corn dogs. i'll probably throw up after the tilt a whirl, but i can't wait. what's more backwards than a bearded lady?
